About the opportunity:

Join the Program Delivery Branch as a Project Manager (ASO7) and play a key role in delivering strategic projects and initiatives that support industry growth, investment and economic development across South Australia during this 12-month opportunity.

In this role, you will support the successful delivery of the Department's priority projects and strategic initiatives by providing commercial and strategic analysis, coordinating technical expertise, and facilitating informed decision-making. Working across complex and high-profile projects, you will engage with stakeholders from government, industry and communities to drive collaboration, investment opportunities, industry development and economic growth outcomes for South Australia.

Key Duties:

• Provide strategic, commercial and economic advice to support industry growth and South Australia's industrial transformation.
• Assess project and investment opportunities, coordinating evidence-based analysis to inform government decision-making.
• Build and maintain productive partnerships across government, industry, research organisations and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project inputs and technical expertise to support project and program delivery.
• Influence and engage senior stakeholders, project proponents and decision-makers to achieve project outcomes and resolve complex issues.
• Prepare high-quality briefings, submissions, correspondence and strategic advice for executive and ministerial stakeholders.

The Policy and Programs Division drives sustainable growth in the energy and resource sectors by unlocking opportunities through data-driven insights, analysis and strategic policy and program development and delivery. Through strong collaboration with stakeholders, the division identifies, analyses and addresses opportunities and barriers to growth, enabling innovation, investment and long-term sector resilience.

The Program Delivery Branch designs and delivers priority government programs and projects with responsibility for end-to-end design, planning and implementation. The branch works with stakeholders to coordinate delivery, manage risks and maximise economic, social and environmental benefits.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated commercial and strategic acumen, including the ability to understand market dynamics, investment drivers, economic impacts and industry opportunities and apply this understanding to support government decision-making.
• Demonstrated experience in project and risk management methodologies, including managing complex projects with competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in providing timely, high-quality advice and recommendations to decision makers.

Qualifications:

Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Commerce, Economics, Public Policy and/or Law.

Remuneration:
ASO7 Classification
$116,089 to $125,490 per annum (plus superannuation)
Full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Special Conditions:

• This is a 12-month term vacancy.
• Flexible working arrangements are available and negotiated with the manager.
• Some intra-state travel may be required.
• Out of hours work may be required.
• The incumbent is expected to uphold the ethical behaviour and integrity standards of the South Australian public sector.
