The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Weed Control Coordinator to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions

The position will be leading the delivery of a program to increase the productivity of the primary industry sector, decrease management costs and benefit biodiversity and local communities through improved control of priority weeds

The successful applicant will foster partnerships and relationships with internal and external government stakeholders, the community and industry to facilitate a collaborative, whole of government approach to the delivery of weed control programs. They will facilitate stakeholder commitment and cooperation in weed control, and ensure industry participation, consultation, and feedback.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
  • Out of hours work and inter/intrastate travel will be required.
  • A relevant degree in science, natural resource management, agronomy or equivalent is desirable.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

Remuneration

ASO6 - $97,022 min - $102,626 max per annum, plus superannuation
