We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Analyst to join the Revenue and Economics Branch at The Department of Treasury & Finance.

Remuneration:  ASO6 – Salary Range ($102,171 - $108,071 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

Reporting to Manager, Revenue, the Senior Analyst is responsible for:

  • preparing and monitoring forward estimates of taxation revenue, Commonwealth grants and other revenue.
  • managing data collections to assist in quantitative analysis and research, including state comparative data on revenue.
  • undertaking analysis and developing advice on issues relating to Commonwealth payments to the state, including through the process of horizontal fiscal equalisation.

About you

To be successful you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in economics, finance, commerce, or another relevant field.
  • Experience in undertaking financial/economic analysis.
  • Experience in the development of financial and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level knowledge of state taxes and Commonwealth-state funding arrangements.
  • Significant understanding of general economic and statistical principles.

The Branch contributes to the Government’s economic policy and provides advice on economic strategy with the aim of maximising economic opportunities for South Australia.
  • It also plays a key role in supporting the Treasurer, Under Treasurer and Deputy Under Treasurer for meetings of Heads of Treasury and for meetings of the Board of Treasurers and Council on Federal-Financial Relations. The Branch also provides the Secretariat for Board of Treasurers.
