We are currently seeking applications for a Commercial
Infrastructure Advisor to join the Commercial and Procurement
Branch at The Department of Treasury & Finance.
Remuneration: ASO5 – Salary Range
($89,007 – $98,991p.a.).
About the opportunity:
The Commercial Infrastructure Advisor will provide analytical
expertise, commercial insight, and collaborative support across
infrastructure and commercial initiatives.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Commercial Advisory or
equivalent line manager.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative
analysis.
- Effective analytical skills, ability to gather and
interpret financial and asset related data, and contract
documents for forecasting, scenario planning and strategic
decision-making purposes.
- Demonstrated understanding of large infrastructure projects
development (concept through to delivery) in a large commercial
or government portfolio.
- Interpersonal skills that foster a professional working
environment, co–operation, collaboration and high-performance
teamwork. Possession of an open communication style, positive
attitude, and a high degree of personal integrity and
credibility.
- Demonstrated ability to provide written clear, forthright,
and relevant advice promptly to keep pace with evolving
business needs.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant
legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics,
EEO and cultural inclusion.
- Demonstrated understanding of AS4300 (Design & Construct)
style contracting used for SA Government building projects,
including contractor design obligations and associated risk
allocation.
- Some experience in procurement models, and/or commercial
transactions management.
- An understanding of the legislative requirements of the
Work Health and Safety Act 2012.
- Proficiency in risk identification, qualification,
quantification, and mitigation management.
- An understanding of and ability to work/manage to the
spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management –
Guidelines.
- Demonstrated expertise in working collaboratively &
sustainability within teams & broader groups
- Upholds the highest ethical standards, building trust
across all levels of the organisation.
Desirable Expertise
- Tertiary qualifications in either finance, business, law,
economics, engineering or equivalent.

About the Branch
The Commercial and Procurement Branch is the government’s lead
advisor on commercial strategies, specialist procurement and
strategic contracting. In partnership with Departments, the Branch
will lead the assessment and management of commercial projects,
uplift the capability across government, implement and manage
modern systems, oversee and support major projects, and lead
strategic procurements.
