About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Manager
ASO8 to lead the transition of electricity supply arrangements
under the Remote Area Energy Supply RAES Scheme.
This role is responsible for leading the planning, governance
and delivery of a complex transition of remote electricity services
to a future service delivery model. The position will drive
commercial, regulatory, operational and stakeholder outcomes, while
providing high-level strategic advice to support Government
decision-making.
Working with a broad range of stakeholders including local
councils, government agencies, regulators, service providers and
remote communities, the role will play a key part in shaping the
future of electricity supply arrangements across remote South
Australia.
This is a full-time term vacancy for 2 years.
Key Duties:
- Lead and deliver the RAES transition project from planning
through to implementation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with remote
communities, local councils, service providers and government
stakeholders.
- Develop project plans, manage risks and track progress to
ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage project budgets, governance requirements and
procurement activities.
- Coordinate technical, policy, legal, commercial and
operational project activities
- Deliver strong and culturally appropriate community
engagement across remote area
- Build effective relationships with local government,
communities and key stakeholders
- Prepare high quality briefs, reports and advice for senior
executives, Ministers and Cabinet
- Identify and address issues and risks while adapting to
changing priorities.
- Undertake frequent intrastate travel to support operational
requirements, including extended travel periods of up to one
week at a time.

Key Selection Criteria:
Please address the

- Proven experience delivering complex projects or programs,
preferably in remote or regional settings
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to
build trusted relationships.
- Experience working across multiple organisations,
government agencies or community groups.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to
explain complex issues clearly.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage emerging
risks
- Sound project management skills, including planning,
governance and risk management.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities
and achieve results.
- An interest in energy, infrastructure or essential
services, with the ability to quickly understand technical
information would be highly regarded.
Qualifications:
Desirable: Diploma
or higher qualification in Project Management
Desirable: Experience working with remote
South Australian communities.
Desirable: Significant stakeholder and
community engagement experience.
Remuneration:
ASO8 classification
Salary range: $130,046 to $134,956 per annum (plus
superannuation)
Worked over 37.5 hours per week
Special Conditions:
- This is a term engagement for 2 years
- Extensive intrastate travel is an essential requirement of
this role
- Current SA driver’s licence required
- Requirement to undertake 4WD training
- Requirement to undertake First Aid and CPR
qualifications
- Subject to satisfactory National Police Clearance
