The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for two Software Developers to be part of our Corporate Services Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions. In this role, you will provide software development services within PIRSA’s application environment, supporting the full application lifecycle, and contributing to an efficient, reliable and secure ICT environment.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Software Developer you will:

  • Contribute to all stages of the software development process including designing, coding, reviewing, testing, correcting and documenting complex system components
  • Provide technical expertise in the requirements analysis phase
  • Analyse and make recommendations to rectify technical and operational issues
  • Ensure developed IT solutions comply with PIRSA’s Information Technology policies, procedures, standards and security practice

About You

You will bring:

  • Solid, practical knowledge of modern software engineering and ICT technologies
  • Ability to design, code, verify, test, document and refactor moderately complex programs/scripts
  • Skills to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services
  • A collaborative approach and ability to contribute to team outcomes

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Two opportunities up to June 2027.
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

Remuneration

ASO5 - $89,007 min - $98,991 max per annum, plus superannuation
