About the Role:
The Senior Hydrometric Officer is
responsible for assisting in the delivery of the construction and
maintenance program for the South Australian groundwater network.
This includes an extensive network of surface and subsurface
infrastructure such as headworks for high and low pressure
regulation of water, and major plant and equipment. The incumbent
will also undertake collection and entry of hydrological data into
information systems.

Contract:
Up to 2 years
Desirable Qualifications:
Heavy machinery, truck, forklift, crane and dogging licences are
desirable. Experience in construction, maintenance or a trade
industry qualification is desirable but not essential.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in responses to state
emergencies or associated duties.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows
you to work in Australia without restrictions.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and
ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Required to be a State Authorised Officer under the
Landscapes South Australia Act 2019.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel for
extended periods, regular overnight absences, and work outside
of the normal hours of work including weekends, and public
holidays.
- This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal
History Check which must be renewed every three years.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the
Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an
original photo identification document sighted and provide a
valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued
within the last 12 months.
Remuneration:
OPS3 $71,589 min - $76,033 max p.a.
