About the role

The Administrative Officer, Paediatric Rehabilitation, reports to the Unit Head and provides high-quality, confidential administrative support to the Paediatric Rehabilitation Department, which supports children and young people with physical and cognitive impairments due to conditions such as brain and spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, stroke, and other neurological disorders.

Key duties of the role

  • Provides reception and telephone support, manages referrals and appointments, performs accurate data entry and clinical transcription, and coordinates interpreter services.
  • Encourage and foster a positive culture and safe working environment
  • Actively participate in quality management, quality assurance and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of paediatric rehabilitation services
  • Contributing to the development of enhancements and modifications to administrative processes and related information systems when required

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure, manage competing priorities, and follow direction effectively
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and deliver customer-focused service
  • High level of typing accuracy with excellent spelling, grammar, and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work in a hospital and/or health related environment
