Role Details:
Our office in Mount Barker is seeking
to appoint a Social
Worker or Case Manager to
join their team on a full-time term basis. This role plays a vital
part in safeguarding vulnerable children and young people through
timely, high-quality case management services and purposeful
interventions. You will have the opportunity to develop a rewarding
career by helping vulnerable children, young people and their
families achieve positive, lasting outcomes in a purpose-driven
environment.
This is a single vacancy offered under a dual
classification, meaning it may be filled by either a
qualified Social Worker (AHP1) or Professional Officer (PO1),
depending on the qualifications and suitability of the successful
applicant.
Essential Qualification:
- AHP (Allied Health Professional)
positions require applicants to hold
a Social Work qualification and be
eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of
Social Workers (AASW).
- PO (Professional Officer)
positions require relevant qualifications
in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human
Services, Health or other related fields.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the protection of children and young people,
evaluate the risk of abuse, failure to protect and harm to self
and other people.
- Respond to notifications of child abuse and investigation
outcomes, and reassess cases as new evidence arises.
- Conduct child-focused investigations and assessments that
prioritise safety and support families to safely care for their
children.
- Undertake regular visits, assess the needs of children and
families, and deliver targeted interventions to ensure child
safety and wellbeing.
About You:
- You have a strong understanding of children and young
people, particularly in relation to developmental stages,
vulnerability, and resilience.
- You are skilled in managing workloads, prioritising tasks,
and responding effectively to competing demands.
- You will be committed to identifying and responding to
risks for children and young people, with sound assessment and
judgement skills.
- You will have a proven ability to develop and maintain
strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to
support positive outcomes.
Salary:
AHP1 ($71,217 - $86,938 per annum) + 12%
superannuation.
- 4% Child Protection Allowance on top of the annual
salary.
- Professional Development Allowance, entitlement to claim
reimbursement of eligible professional development
expenses.
- Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional
qualification relevant to the role.
PO1 ($68,478 - $83,594 per annum) + 12%
superannuation.
- Additional Child Protection Allowance.
