About the Opportunity

The Case Receipt Officer provides essential forensic administrative support, ensuring the accurate intake, submission, tracking, and return of forensic samples and case materials. The role supports efficient case management while maintaining strict adherence to procedures, quality standards, and chain-of-custody requirements.

 

About the Business

Forensic Science SA (FSSA) provides a comprehensive, coordinated range of services to agencies associated with the justice system including the State Coroner, South Australia Police (SAPOL), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and defence and civil litigants.

We are part of the Attorney General’s Department and the Director, FSSA reports to the Executive Director Finance, People and Performance. Within FSSA there are four scientific/medico-legal operational areas: Pathology, Chemistry, Biology and Toxicology, each analysing materials using a diverse range of scientific equipment and processes.

The operational areas are supported by Administration, Information Technology and Projects, Facilities and Services and Quality, who each provide underpinning services in support of the operational areas.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
