An excellent opportunity is available for a highly skilled and solutions‑focused professional to join the Parliamentary Network Support Group (PNSG) as a Technical Specialist – Server (ASO6) at the Parliament of South Australia. This term role, available until 9 October 2026, reports to the Team Leader, Technology Services and plays a critical role in supporting secure, reliable and high‑performing ICT services across the Parliamentary environment.

About the Role

The Technical Specialist – Server provides high‑level technical expertise across complex server, cloud, and security environments supporting Parliament and Electorate Offices. The role is responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise systems, ensuring availability, performance and alignment with cyber security requirements.

Working closely with PNSG leadership, technical peers, and external service providers, the position contributes to the delivery of secure and resilient ICT services. This includes proactive monitoring and management of infrastructure, responding to incidents and threats, supporting system enhancements, and contributing to cyber security initiatives aligned with the ACSC Essential Eight and broader security frameworks.

The role also provides expert technical advice, supports projects and change initiatives, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and strong service delivery outcomes within a complex and sensitive operating environment.

About You

You are an experienced ICT professional with a strong background in managing enterprise server and cloud environments, combined with a solid understanding of cyber security principles and practices. You bring a proactive, analytical approach to problem solving and are comfortable working with complex systems and competing priorities.

You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, and external providers. Your collaborative approach, sound judgement, and commitment to high‑quality service delivery will be critical to your success.

You will have experience across server infrastructure, cloud platforms, identity and access management, and security monitoring tools, along with an ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions. A focus on continuous improvement, documentation and alignment with governance frameworks is essential.

Relevant industry certifications in Microsoft, Azure, M365, or related technologies, along with experience in enterprise virtualisation, storage, or cyber security frameworks, will be well regarded.
