The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) is seeking a Director, People and Culture to join its high-performing executive team in Adelaide. About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be entrusted with leading a talented team responsible for shaping every aspect of DTF’s workforce strategy. Your day-to-day will involve partnering with senior and executive leaders to deliver innovative people and culture strategies across the P&C lifecycle and advancing meaningful organisational change to enhance and sustain DTF’s reputation as a leading employer of choice.

You will:

  • Provide strategic leadership on the departments workforce strategy and the People and Culture branch
  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative workforce initiatives
  • Provide trusted advice on complex workforce matters across the department
  • Ensure workforce policies and practices meet legislative and public sector requirements
  • Lead equity, diversity and inclusion strategies that support safe and inclusive workplaces
  • Build strong partnerships across DTF and the broader public sector

About You

You are an experienced senior people and culture leader with a strong track record operating in complex organisations. You bring sound judgment, clear accountability and a calm, confident leadership style, and are trusted to provide advice on sensitive and high impact workforce matters.

You’ll thrive in this role if you: 

  • Have senior leadership experience leading contemporary people and culture functions
  • Provide trusted strategic and operational advice to executives on complex workforce issues
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across workforce operations and organisational development
  • Communicate clearly and influence decisions with confidence and integrity
  • Balance strategic priorities with operational delivery in dynamic, evolving environments
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in human resource management or a related discipline, supporting your effectiveness at executive level
