We are currently seeking applications for a Payment Strategy Officer, to join RevenueSA, Debt Management Services at the Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of 2 years.

Remuneration:  ASO4- Salary Range ($79 432 - $83 266 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

The Payment Strategy Officer is responsible for collection and enforcement of tax revenue for South Australia. This role involves strategic debt management, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering high standards of taxpayer service to ensure compliance and efficient revenue outcomes.

About you

You are a confident and analytical professional with experience in debt management, compliance, or revenue-related environments. You bring strong judgement to complex cases and are comfortable engaging with taxpayers, agents, and legal representatives to achieve fair and sustainable outcomes. You value collaboration and can work effectively with all stakeholders to progress enforcement strategies while maintaining a high standard of taxpayer service. You are detail-oriented, resilient, and motivated by achieving compliance and positive revenue outcomes.

To be successful you will be:

  • Experienced in managing debt recovery, compliance, or enforcement caseloads, with the ability to prioritise and resolve matters effectively
  • Skilled in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, using clear communication and negotiation to encourage compliance and agree on payment outcomes.
  • Capable of conducting financial analysis, including cash-flow assessments, to inform decision-making and establish appropriate payment arrangements
  • Able to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, to develop and progress enforcement strategies
  • Committed to delivering high-quality taxpayer service while meeting legislative obligations and performance targets
