About the Role:
Management Accountant to provide quality financial and budgetary analysis and advisory services to internal and external clients. This assists the business to maximise the efficient use of resources and includes forecasting and reporting that contributes to improved business decisions and identifies risk and opportunities. 

​The role requires a proactive and solutions-focused approach. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound judgement and initiative when working through complex or incomplete information, identifying issues, analysing implications and developing practical, well-reasoned recommendations.

The ability to prioritise competing tasks, anticipate potential risks and seek clarification where required will be highly regarded. We are seeking a relationship-focused professional who values collaboration and is confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

The role requires the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across the agency, supporting compliance with, and understanding of, departmental financial policies and procedures through clear, practical and professional engagement. Contract: 
Contract for up to 12 Month

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.  
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
  • Interchange between other Finance roles at the same classification when business needs arise, or when requested by senior Finance staff.
  • This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which must be renewed every three years.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.

A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months.

Remuneration: 
ASO5 $89,007 min - $98,991 max p.a.
