Role Details
The role preserves and digitises audiovisual collection material using specialised digitising systems, contemporary standards and a wide range of legacy playback equipment. It ensures high-quality outcomes through rigorous quality control and postprocessing, preparing media files and metadata for ingest into the library's digital preservation system and for use in exhibitions, online delivery, broadcasting and client services. The position provides expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, contributes to the achievement of productivity and project targets, and supports the efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of audiovisual studio facilities.

Special Conditions
  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours may be required.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History check.
  • Accurate hearing and colour vision is a requirement to fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
  • Driving may form part of this role and engagement may be subject to completion of an Annual Drivers License Checklist, attaching a copy of a current drivers license.  A renewal will be required every 12 months.
  • The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.

Essential Qualification

  • Qualifications in audio engineering, film making and or appropriate qualifications in audiovisual preservation are highly desirable.

Salary Range
$79,432 - $83,266 p.a.
