  • Salary $130,190.00 - $136,010.00 p.a. (Pro Rata) RN/M3 | 7.6 hours per week – Contract until January 2027

Combine clinical expertise with comprehensive case coordination, working collaboratively with existing healthcare services and local providers to ensure seamless service delivery. The Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Liaison Nurse Consultant is a specialised nursing role that provides essential care coordination, education and support for people accessing VAD services across regional South Australia. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Nursing Director, this role is responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures and service models meet the diverse needs of regional SA.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provides consistent, accurate and current information to consumers and service providers about VAD and how to access it within regional LHN within South Australia.
  • Works closely with people accessing VAD to individualise VAD support to specifically meet the needs of the person, family and carers. 
  • Contributes to the development of, implementation of, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes relevant to VAD.
  • Contributes specific expertise to monitor and evaluate research activities in order to improve nursing practice and service delivery in the area of VAD and end of life care.
  • Provides leadership and direction, acts as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication (both written and verbal), problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills including the ability to engage in difficult conversations.
  • Demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills that foster trust, respect, confidence and cooperation with colleagues, patients, families, multi-disciplinary team members and, senior staff
