The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

The Opportunity 

The Traffic Engineer Network Analytics supports the effective operation and performance of the South Australian road network. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role provides technical analysis and advice on projects, developments and operational policies. Using traffic engineering, transport modelling and smart infrastructure data, the position supports network performance reporting and delivers recommendations aligned with Network Management Services and government objectives.

About you

You work collaboratively to deliver outcomes and contribute to service performance. You analyse complex information to develop practical; policy aligned solutions and provide clear, timely advice and reports. You operate with limited supervision, managing priority tasks across programs and projects. You communicate professionally and effectively with stakeholders at all levels and demonstrate flexibility to respond to changing requirements.

Educational Qualifications / Licences  

  • Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • A current driver's licence is essential.

Special Conditions 

  • A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
  • Some out of hours work and, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
