The Engagement and Project Officer will have an initial focus on
developing relationships with a wide range of wildlife and animal
welfare stakeholders to build the foundations for successful
engagement with the sector. In this role you will be a key interface between the Department and key stakeholder groups and take a practical role in supporting clients to meet their requirements. Our stakeholders are from across South Australia so the role will require you to be able to travel and meet with people from all areas. You will contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of wildlife and animal welfare projects and programs across the state and support broader policy and change initiatives across the wildlife sector. You will bring a well-developed ability to engage and
communicate professionally with stakeholders, using your strong
emotional intelligence to remain calm under pressure and be open to
listening to different perspectives and negotiating outcomes
relating to sensitive animal welfare and wildlife management
matters. The role will also provide you with the opportunity to
contribute to the management of wildlife in emergencies. If you are
