About Us

Picture a career that’s more than numbers. At the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), we’re building a world-class Treasury for South Australia—one that’s innovative, collaborative, and future-focused.

For over 120 years, Super SA has supported South Australian public sector employees to build financial security for their future. As a branch of the Department of Treasury and Finance, we are trusted to deliver reliable, member‑focused superannuation services that genuinely make a difference. Our people are at the heart of our success, working in a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where expertise is valued, collaboration is encouraged, and meaningful work is delivered every day.

We’re South Australia’s lead agency for economic, digital, and financial policy outcomes. Our work touches every corner of the state, from enabling frontline services to driving digital transformation. And we do it all with one purpose: to make life better for the people who call South Australia home.

Why This Role Matters

Every claim tells a personal story, and your work ensures members receive fair, accurate and timely outcomes when they need it most. As part of Super SA, you’ll support a stronger, better future for South Australians by helping public sector workers and their families navigate critical financial decisions with clarity, empathy and professionalism.

About The Opportunity

As a Claims Management Officer, you will deliver high quality claims administration services, ensuring members receive accurate information, timely assessments and compassionate support. You will:

  • Process, assess and coordinate claims (including Death, Total and Permanent Disablement and Income Protection) in line with legislation, policy and established standards.
  • Maintain accurate case records, proactively manage a portfolio of claims, undertake case reviews, and identify risks in complex or sensitive claims.
  • Communicate clearly with members, agencies, and external parties, providing trusted advice on insurance and benefit matters.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across Super SA to enhance member experience and service delivery.

This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a supportive, collaborative team environment and enjoys work that directly improves outcomes for others.

 About You

You’ll thrive here if you bring empathy, professionalism and a steady, solutions‑focused approach to your work. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Enjoys using their superannuation or financial services knowledge to make complex information clear and meaningful, helping members and agencies understand their options with confidence.
  • Communicates with care, clarity and professionalism, building trust with members, colleagues and external partners even when conversations are sensitive or challenging.
  • Stays calm, objective and solutions‑focused under pressure, applying strong problem‑solving skills to navigate complex claims with fairness and accuracy.
  • Brings empathy, tact and discretion to every interaction, recognising the personal impact that claims, injuries and life events can have on members and their families.
  • Uses sound judgement and attention to detail when reviewing claim information, applying established procedures and legislative requirements to deliver accurate outcomes.
  • Collaborates naturally and builds positive working relationships, contributing to a supportive team culture and strengthening outcomes across Super SA and external stakeholders.
