Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people
and places in South Australia by delivering a multi-billion-dollar
pipeline of transport and social infrastructure projects, operating
and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our
city’s public transport network.
The
Opportunity
The Legislative Services
Section within the Legal, Commercial and Assurance Services
Directorate (LCAS), is seeking a Senior Legislation Officer to
assist in delivering programs of complex legislative reform through
the Parliamentary process. As part of LCAS, the Senior Legislation
Officer will contribute to the objective of providing advice,
supporting the Department’s legal and legislative obligations, and
improving the commercial capability of the Department. The Section
is responsible for any amendments that need to be made to
legislation committed to the Minister for Infrastructure and
Transport, including: the Motor Vehicles Act 1959, the
Road Traffic Act 1961, the Harbors and Navigation
Act 1991, and the Passenger Transport Act
1994, and many others.
You will
have autonomy and genuine flexibility within a dynamic Directorate,
which is focused on providing innovative solutions and
customer-focused services.

Qualifications /
Licences
A tertiary qualification
in law or other relevant disciple and/or previous experience in a
similar role is desirable.
Special
Conditions
- A
National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in
the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be
renewed every three years.
- Attendance at Parliament to assist the
passage of legislation may be required.
- Some out
of hours and weekend work, along with attendance on Public
Holidays and some intra/interstate travel, may be
required.
Tenure of vacancy
Temporary appointment up one (1) year.
Remuneration
ASO6
- $102,171 to $108,071 per annum + superannuation
