The Role:

As a Junior Software Developer, you will undertake a variety of activities including but not limited to:

  • Analyse, design, develop, unit test, and deploy enhancements and fixes to the PlanSA systems.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to understand the business needs and ensuring the solutions meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with test analysts to ensure quality solutions are delivered.
  • Provide ongoing support to the PlanSA systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, an interest in learning, experience in automation platform configuration, and the ability to write code when required for more complex customisations.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

  • Experience with low-code/no-code tools and process automation such as Appian or similar.
  • Experience with REST API integration and development.
  • Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Experience working with Agile or hybrid project including working in release readiness process.
  • Experience with Atlassian Bitbucket, Confluence and JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Data mapping and transformation between systems.
  • Understanding of automation best practices, monitoring, and error handling.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure Cloud Services.
  • Well-developed, applied knowledge of System Development and support Methodologies (SDLC, Agile Development and ITIL).
  • Sound understanding of development best practices, including CI/CD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Special Conditions:

Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 2 years.

Remuneration:

ASO5 – $89,007 min – $98,991 max plus superannuation.
