About the opportunity

Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN) is now accepting applications from experienced Registered Nurses (RN) and/or Registered Midwives (RM) to fill a range of part time positions as a Clinical Practice Improvement (CPI) Nurse/Midwife.

Clinical Practice Improvement (CPI) is used as an umbrella term to describe those activities that may be undertaken to understand whether nursing and midwifery practice is in accordance with recognised best practice standards, and those activities that are undertaken to improve processes of care and service delivery.

The Nursing and Midwifery Model for Clinical Practice Improvement is inclusive of acute care, community health, midwifery, mental health and aged care services.

CPI Registered Nurse/Midwives will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop communication, coordination, leadership, and change management skills;
  • Build interpersonal skills and critical thinking;
  • Gain Knowledge and experience with a range of national best practice standards;
  • Develop audit and CPI skills and knowledge, and
  • Develop resource development and presentation skills.

All CPI Nurses will be contracted on a 5-day roster and will need to be able to work on Tuesdays to facilitate interaction with the CPI Coordinator and other members of the YNLHN Safety and Quality Teams as required, other CPI days can be rostered as set days or flexibly.  

CPI Nurse/Midwives will be required to travel across the region, visiting each of the sites within their respective hubs/services and must have an unrestricted current driver's license. 

What you'll need:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent.
  • Reside or be willing to relocate to a hub/site in the Yorke and Northern Region
  • Hold an unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • Must be available to work on a Tuesday
