Full Time (1.0 FTE)
As per the SMOEA 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-months allocation as Advanced Trainee / Fellow Paediatric Rehab will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

About the role
The Rehabilitation Fellow provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient and community-based paediatric rehabilitation services within WCHN under Consultant supervision. Working within the Department of Paediatric Rehabilitation Services, the role supports evidence-based, interdisciplinary care aimed at optimising functional outcomes for children and young people, while contributing to teaching, research and the formal Paediatric Rehabilitation training program.
Key duties of the role
Participate in outpatient clinics, including assessment, management and follow-up of new and existing patients under Consultant supervision.
Provide inpatient care, including assessment, care coordination, daily management and discharge planning for allocated patients.
Assess and manage acute paediatric presentations, supporting investigations, procedures and clinical decision-making within scope of training.
Coordinate and interpret investigations and support continuity of care through accurate clinical documentation and follow-up.
Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, collaborating with families, allied health and community-based services.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent and eligible for Medical Board of Australia registration.
Completion of RACP Basic Paediatric Training and undertaking or entry into Paediatric Rehabilitation training (AFRM pathway).
Demonstrated clinical experience in paediatric medicine and rehabilitation care.
Strong communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary and community-based settings.
Proven problem-solving, adaptability and commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based care.
