About Us

Picture a career that’s more than numbers. At the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), we’re building a world-class Treasury for South Australia, one that’s innovative, collaborative, and future-focused.

For over 120 years, Super SA has supported South Australian public sector employees to build financial security for their future. As a branch of the Department of Treasury and Finance, we are trusted to deliver reliable, member‑focused superannuation services that genuinely make a difference. Our people are at the heart of our success, working in a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where expertise is valued, collaboration is encouraged, and meaningful work is delivered every day.

We’re South Australia’s lead agency for economic, digital, and financial policy outcomes. Our work touches every corner of the state, from enabling frontline services to driving digital transformation. And we do it all with one purpose: to make life better for the people who call South Australia home.

Why This Role Matters

Super SA helps members secure their financial future — and the reliability of its platforms is central to that trust. In this role, you’ll be the senior authority for the ownership, governance and integrity of Super SA’s superannuation platforms, ensuring continuity while navigating complex system, vendor and regulatory issues with high-level judgement.

About The Opportunity

  • Be the senior authority safeguarding the ownership, governance and integrity of Super SA’s superannuation platforms, protecting member outcomes and organisational confidence.
  • Strengthen platform continuity through clear technology risk management, embedding controls and supporting disaster recovery readiness.
  • Shape a service culture that delivers, setting business-based targets for service levels and ensuring delivery is tracked through agreed outcomes.
  • Lead critical, organisation-wide triage and complex multi-party incident resolution, bringing calm, clarity and momentum when it matters most.
  • Build effective partnerships across executives, internal technology leadership and external vendors, providing advice that supports performance and service delivery decisions.
  • Drive strong, fit-for-purpose management of the application portfolio, aligning system health, maintenance, asset management and software purchasing to what the fund needs.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, project management, business, or a related discipline and uses that foundation to lead with confidence.
  • Has 5 years or more experience in leading technology teams, creating clarity, momentum and an environment where people can do their best work.
  • Is highly skilled in communicating, both verbally and in writing, building trust across a wide range of audiences on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Brings a demonstrated passion for driving continuous improvement, uplifting team competency, maturity and delivery capability over time.
  • Has demonstrated experience in planning and leading change management initiatives for system implementations, guiding stakeholders through readiness, go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Is confident identifying and analysing IT issues, making sound and timely decisions, and balancing evidence with stakeholder needs and feedback

Why Join Us

You’ll step into a leadership role with serious impact, helping protect the platforms that enable Super SA to serve members with confidence, now and into the future. You’ll join Good People. Interesting work. Serious Impact. Imagine that.  A culture where leaders collaborate, navigate complexity with clear eyes, and create the space for new ideas and strong outcomes that matter for South Australia.
