The Department for Child Protection (DCP) is seeking a Workforce Planning/People Analytics Lead to work in the Adelaide CBD. As part of the People and Culture directorate, this role shapes strategic workforce planning and people analytics, enabling leaders to make informed, evidence-based decisions about workforce resourcing across the department.

This position connects organisational strategy with service demand, reform priorities, labour market insights and workforce data, translating these into practical, forward-focused workforce plans. The goal is to ensure DCP has the right capability, capacity and culture to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Working closely with senior leaders, the role provides strategic insights, models workforce scenarios and identifies risks and opportunities across workforce supply, demand, skills, diversity and performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of DCP’s workforce planning framework
  • Develop and maintain workforce dashboards, scorecards and KPIs that measure and analyse workforce trends
  • Provide high-level advice to executive and senior leaders to inform resourcing decisions and investment prioritisation
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and strengthen analytics across HR systems and workforce data capabilities
  • Facilitate workshops that build leaders’ confidence in interpreting workforce data and applying insights to decision-making.

To be successful:

You will demonstrate a high level of experience in workforce planning, people analytics or strategic People and Culture roles within large service-delivery organisations. Your experience is reflected in your ability to translate complex data into meaningful strategic insights and present information in a clear and accessible manner.

The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to being able to deliver confident, engaging presentations. You can build relationships with a range of stakeholders and have experience in providing advice and high-level information to senior leaders.

You will have advanced proficiency in data tools such as Excel, Power BI and HRIS reporting tools, with a solid understanding of how to apply AI. A forward-thinking mindset, paired with insight into workforce trends and skills capability frameworks, will set you apart.

If you’re driven by analysing and presenting data that supports a strong future workforce, we encourage you to apply.
