state. The Leader, Arts Curriculum 7-12 demonstrates specialist expertise in secondary education, providing high level advice and leadership across SA Curriculum, Australian Curriculum V9, and SACE. The role directs resources and curriculum development in collaboration with practitioners, leveraging extensive knowledge to guide system-wide implementation and improvement. Arts education in South Australian secondary schools embraces visual arts, music, drama, dance, and media arts. This specialist field fosters creativity, cultural understanding, emotional expression, and communication skills. Through exploration, interpretation, creation, and performance, the Arts empower students to develop artistic talent, critical thinking, and appreciation for diverse perspectives within contemporary and historical contexts. The
Leader, Arts Curriculum 7–12 collaborates with the Curriculum
directorate and key stakeholders to implement evidence-informed
curriculum and strengthen teacher capability. The role monitors
emerging Position title trends locally and globally, activating
areas of Impact and guiding strategic learning design to enhance
educational outcomes across the system. Essential: Current full teacher registration. Desirable:
Nil. The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
