As the Senior Policy Officer, you will work across complex and high-priority emergency management issues, leading policy analysis, coordinating governance processes and supporting the delivery of key programs and initiatives. You will prepare high-quality briefings and advice for senior leaders, provide secretariat support to state and national committees, and build strong relationships across government and interagency networks to support informed decision-making and effective policy implementation.

 What you’ll do:

  • Provide high-level policy analysis and support for the development and implementation of emergency management-related programs, policies and initiatives.
  • Conduct high-level evidence-based research and analysis to advise best practice on a range of emergency management-related issues.
  • Contribute to the implementation of legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate and contribute to policy, governance and change initiatives.
  • Prepare high-quality briefings, reports and executive correspondence.
  • Build strong relationships across government, industry and the community.
  • Provide executive and governance support to relevant committees.

Special Conditions:

  • Some inter/intrastate travel, necessitating overnight stays may be required.
  • Some out-of-hours work may be required.
  • May be required to participate in emergency incident management duties.
  • The role will require a National Criminal History Check.

Remuneration: 

ASO6 - $102,171 - $108,071
