About the Role

As part of Adelaide Festival Centre's ongoing commitment to build on its strong position as an internationally recognised performing arts centre, the position of Marketing Coordinator has become available in the Marketing Team. The role provides support to the team on marketing campaigns for the Adelaide Festival Centre and external clients including scheduling ‘owned channel’ signage, eComms and social media and providing support for ‘paid’ and ‘earned’ efforts.

Working under direction of the Marketing Lead, the role provides support and coordination on delivery requirements for radio, TV, press, digital, social media, and outdoor media partnerships. You will assist with managing events including opening nights and launches, liaise with Leads and departments regarding invitation lists, RSVPs, theming, catering selections, event orders, meeting, greeting and handing out tickets and accounting. 

Successful candidates will hold formal qualifications (or experience) in marketing or a related discipline. A passion for and a good understanding of the arts/entertainment industry and a strong commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure onsite venue signage (banners, digital signage, lightboxes) are up to date and rectify if required by liaising with relevant personnel.
  • Work with Marketing Leads on direct mail (both digital and post), building list requests, sourcing quotes and coordinating distribution.
  • Ensure direct mail and electronic mail distribution complies with Privacy Legislation, SPAM Act and copyright laws
  • Under direction of Marketing Leads, write briefs and liaise with design studio to deliver advertising assets
  • Assist with complimentary ticket request and cross promotional opportunities, liaising with Leads regarding the best offering to match opportunities regarding charities and events, ensuring AFC receive exposure for our programs and events in return for our donations
  • Coordinate the curation of the Adelaide Festival Centre website, inputting into order of priority for events and activities and ensuring content is correct and up to date
  • Support social media marketing component of marketing strategies to drive cross-selling initiatives and complement other elements of the marketing mix to meet audience targets, including writing copy and briefing graphic designers where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of contemporary issues in the field of social media marketing and assist to identify and deliver opportunities to continuously improve Adelaide Festival Centre’s social media presence
  • Track and monitor social media campaigns where appropriate, providing statistical information to the team for the future development of campaigns.

Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualifications (or experience) in marketing or related discipline
  • Experience coordinating designated aspects of marketing campaigns or assisting with marketing campaigns
  • Experience working with graphic designers on marketing campaigns
  • A strong commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Experience developing or working with media schedules
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads
  • Project coordination skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
  • Sound research skills, effective networking skills and the ability to think laterally
