THE COURTS ADMINISTRATION AUTHORITY
The Courts Administration Authority is constituted by the
Courts Administration Act 1993. The Act established the
State Courts Administration Council as an administrative authority
independent of control by executive government and to confer on the
Council power to provide courts with the administrative facilities
and services necessary for the proper administration of
justice.
Participating courts of the Authority are the Supreme Court,
District Court, Environment, Resources and Development Court, Youth
Court, Magistrates Court, and the Coroner's Court.
HIGHER COURTS DIVISION
The Higher Courts Division comprises the Supreme Court, the
District Court, the Environment, Resources and Development Court
and Probate. Staff of the Higher Courts Division are responsible
for supporting the participating courts by providing non-judicial
administrative functions and support to the business of each
Court.
The District Court is seeking a motivated individual to join the
leadership team of the Higher Courts. The position provides a
unique opportunity to work within the SA justice system by managing
a team of legally qualified Associates.
The Manager - Associates will:
- Develop and implement, plans and processes to effectively
deliver a professional, high-quality legal and in-court service
to the Judges of the District Court.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and service
excellence.
- Apply strategic thinking to identify and contribute to the
planning for the future needs of the Higher Courts.
- Demonstrate high quality leadership skills, to provide
guidance, instruction and training to inspire the team to
perform at their optimum.
- Possess highly developed legal research skills and the
ability to deduce and provide advice on the administrative
application of legislation, court rules, practice directions
and procedures as they relate to court functions.
- Have the ability and organisational skills to juggle
conflicting priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of
attention to detail.
What we are looking for:
- Proven ability to lead and manage staff, whilst building
positive team relationships.
- Personal maturity and resilience, with an awareness of the
confronting and sensitive nature of the work of the Court.
- Analytical thinking with confidence to make on-the-spot
informed decisions.
- A tertiary qualification in law, management or equivalent
experience is highly desirable.
Special Conditions:
- 12-Month contract with possibility for extension
- Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act
1993. Terms and conditions of employment are
governed by the Public Sector Act 2009 (SA).
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent
convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use
this information in the selection process.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police
Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
Remuneration:
ASO6 ($102,171 - $108,071 per annum)
