The Role:

The Principal Planner is an innovative, senior professional. Working under broad direction, the role will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary project teams and working with a range of stakeholders to coordinate land use and infrastructure network solutions to unlock housing and urban development.

Experienced urban planners or professionals from related fields including urban design and infrastructure planning are encouraged to apply.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

  • A recognised degree or post graduate qualification that supports the relevant discipline of planning and development.
  • Ability to apply professional skills and techniques to interpret, review and implement policy, legislation and regulations.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a planning related role that involves policy development, strategic planning and/or development assessment.
  • Sound knowledge of planning and development processes and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and associated codes, regulations and procedures and skills and abilities to apply them in complex situations.

Qualification:

A recognised degree or post graduate qualification that supports the relevant discipline of planning and development.

Special Conditions:

Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

Remuneration:

PO4 – $118,601 min – $129,116 max plus superannuation.
