Our Disability and Specialised Services (DaSS) Division delivers essential support to South Australians through high-quality NDIS services, sector reform, inclusion-focused policy. We provide direct disability supports through Supported Independent Living, and specialised care through our Disability, Clinical and Quality Services, as well as Aged Care Projects. Our work is strengthened by Corporate and Engagement teams, ensuring strong governance, collaboration and positive outcomes for people we support.

Role Details

The Catering and Domestic Officer is a role within DHS, Disability Services, Northgate and is accountable to the Nurse Unit Manager for:
• assisting in food preparation and meal service for people with a disability
• assisting in catering activities including meal service and clean up
• ordering and receipt of food/meals
• liaising with Northgate staff and food providers
• assisting in preparing and participation in food audits
• performing domestic duties, including maintaining a safe and clean environment at the Northgate site
• providing practical support and assistance to residents in the preparation and service of breakfast.

Key outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Ordering food through Northgate's approved food providers.
2. Ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained at Northgate by implementing and adhering to the documented cleaning schedule.
3. Receive stock, load and unload goods, and assist with transferring prepared meals to and from ovens; and preparing and/or cooking food for functions as required.
4. Operate specific equipment for cooking of food items, catered style food items, reheating meals and prepare special fluids if required.
5. Serve well-presented plated meals in accordance with the daily menu.
6. Clean food service equipment including washing dishes, floors and environments and follow the Food Safety Program and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Principles.
7. Complete required documentation including temperature taking of fridges, meals, dishwashers and checking house temperature documentation.
8. Assist in the promoting of high-quality service delivery to older people with a cognitive impairment. 

Special Conditions

National Police Check required.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
NDIS Clearance
This is a part-time opportunity with two positions available.

Salary Range

$62,410-$63,059
