The Leader, Languages R-12 demonstrates specialist expertise across Reception to Year 12, providing high-level advice and leadership across SA Curriculum, Australian Curriculum V9, and SACE. The role directs resources and curriculum development in collaboration with practitioners, leveraging extensive knowledge to guide system wide implementation and improvement. The Languages learning area recognises that students bring knowledge and experiences of the languages they see, hear or use in their lives. Through learning languages, they are encouraged to explore and grow their linguistic and cultural identity, enhancing a sense of belonging, wellbeing and purpose as active and informed citizens. The Leader, Languages R–12 collaborates with the Curriculum directorate and key stakeholders to implement evidence-informed curriculum and strengthen teacher capability. The role monitors emerging trends locally and globally, activating areas of impact and guiding strategic learning design to enhance educational outcomes across the system.
Qualifications Essential: A tertiary qualification in education and current full teacher registration. Desirable: Deep knowledge and understanding of the relevant learning area.
Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. Remuneration STL3 $152,287 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)
