Overview:

The Director, Performance is accountable to the Executive Director for the leadership and direction of the Performance Directorate.  The Director will ensure systems and processes are in place to ensure

  • the effective performance monitoring of health service delivery and public hospital initiatives across the state and the provision of internal and external reporting and analysis that supports improvement in key performance outcomes.
  • The development and implementation of the SA Performance Framework, giving consideration to the National Performance Framework, including the development of key performance indicators and targets that support improved service delivery.

The role is accountable for the development and management of system and entity level Key Performance metrics that enable the Department for Health and Wellbeing to fulfil its governance responsibility as system manager of the South Australian public hospital system.

The Director will lead teams that support the functions of the Chief Executive required under the Health Care Act 2008 including the development of policy for the purposes of

  • Setting standards and policies for safe and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensuring consistent approaches to service delivery.
  • Supporting the application of state policies, legislation and agreements entered into by the State.
  • Optimising efficient and effective use of resources.

This role specifically supports and leads the monitoring and management of effective and efficient public health services and the application of service agreements.  In carrying out these functions, the Director will have strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across Local Health Networks, the department and with national bodies to improve local performance across four key domains of:

  • Timely Access to Care
  • Productivity and Efficiency
  • Safe and Effective Care
  • People and Culture

  • A 'National Police Certificate' NPC (also known as a 'Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check' NCCHC)  for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
