the Department for Correctional Services
The Department
employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine
prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the
state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public
and reducing re-offending. We work towards this through the
contribution of staff who are employed in a wide variety of fields,
from correctional officers and teachers, to social workers,
psychologists and supervisors of court orders. Their commitment

Duties
The
Community Service Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of
clients undertaking community service in South Australia and
liaison with a variety of Government and non Government agencies in
relation to the supervision of offenders assigned to various
project works.
Special
Conditions
- Section
47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with
other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial
entitlements.
- The
incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National
Criminal History Check.
- A
current South Australian Driver’s Licence is
essential.
- A
flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some
interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may
necessitate overnight absences.
- Ability
to work weekends is desired.
- Trades
(skilled / unskilled) experience and ability to operate and
maintain minor machinery is highly desirable.

training qualifications.
Certificate IV
or equivalent in Training and Assessment.

Additional Information
This is a casual pool
for up to 12 months with no guaranteed hours of employment and a 25
percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick
leave.
The primary function of this
position is to provide transport, direction and observation of
offenders who have been assigned to designated community service
work projects.
Located in Mt Gambier.
