About the role

Provide expert leadership within SA Health’s Multi Agency Protection Service (MAPS), delivering specialist advice on gendered violence, risk assessment and service responses. Lead multidisciplinary staff, drive service planning and quality improvement, and work collaboratively across agencies to improve outcomes for people experiencing domestic and family violence and child protection concerns.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead the delivery of SA Health’s MAPS response to domestic and family violence and child protection concerns, providing expert advice, risk assessment leadership and strategic direction.
  • Manage and support a multidisciplinary team through supervision, professional development, workforce planning and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships across health, government and community sectors to promote integrated, coordinated and effective responses to complex client needs.
  • Oversee program operations, including service planning, budget management, reporting, data collection and evaluation to support accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive quality improvement, practice development and workforce capability initiatives, including training, clinical governance, research, risk management and service innovation.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualification in Social Work with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and supervising staff delivering complex trauma, domestic and family violence (DFV) and child protection services.
  • Extensive experience conducting risk assessments, providing professional supervision, and leading evidence-based responses for clients with complex and high-risk needs.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary and interagency collaboration, service improvement initiatives, training programs and change management activities.
  • Advanced knowledge of DFV, child protection, feminist and human rights frameworks, mandatory reporting requirements, information sharing obligations and contemporary risk management practices.
