About the Opportunity

The primary purpose of the Director Justice Policy and Analytics is to lead the development and implementation of justice policy, analytics, and legal assistance strategy, grant funding and project priorities. It provides high level strategic policy advice to decision makers and leads data driven analysis of trends and opportunities for policy or system improvements and reform across the justice sector.

 

About the Business

Justice Policy and Analytics (JPA) is a business unit within the Attorney-General's Department, and aims to support evidence-based decision making for the justice sector by providing policy advice and analytical insights to the Attorney-General, the Department and the justice sector itself. The business unit consists of three core teams, including: Justice Policy, Justice Analytics and Justice Strategy and Funding. JPA is responsible for leading the delivery of strategic justice policy advice to the Attorney-General, the Chief Executive, and to the justice sector. This includes the delivery of policy projects, justice-related programs, and reform projects for which the Department is responsible.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
