ASO4 - $79,432 - $83,266 plus superannuation

About the role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Business Systems Solutions, the Systems and AI Analyst plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing business systems, supporting digital initiatives, and promoting the effective and responsible use of technology and AI across the Commission.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business systems support: Provide a first-stop advisory and support service to staff and assist in maintaining and improving business systems.
  • Process improvement and automation: Assist in identifying opportunities to improve workflows through automation and enhanced system functionality.
  • Business analysis and testing: Develop user requirements, support functional specifications, and perform user acceptance testing to ensure systems meet business needs.
  • AI adoption and capability uplift: Support staff in effectively using AI tools, including Copilot, and promote responsible and ethical AI use.
  • System monitoring and issue resolution: Monitor system performance, assist with incident resolution, and contribute to root cause analysis and preventative improvements.
  • Information security and governance: Support the secure use of systems and data in accordance with information security, privacy and data governance requirements.

 

About you

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Business analysis and problem-solving expertise: Ability to analyse systems and processes, identify issues, and implement practical solutions.
  • Technical capability and systems knowledge: Experience working with business systems, IT processes, and the Microsoft suite.
  • AI knowledge and curiosity: Understanding of AI technologies and an enthusiasm for supporting their adoption in a practical business context.
  • Information security and governance awareness: Understanding of information security, privacy and data governance principles.
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support and guide non-technical users.
  • Educational background: While not essential, a tertiary qualification in IT, computer science or a related discipline is highly regarded.
  • Values-Driven approach: A genuine commitment to the Commission’s core values: accountability, collaboration, agility, respect, and integrity.

The Commission is a statutory authority established as an independent economic regulator and advisory body to protect the long-term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services. We add long-term value to the South Australian community by meeting our objective through independent, ethical and expert regulatory decisions and the provision of robust advice to Government. Our role incorporates licensing, consumer protection, service standards, pricing, monitoring, compliance and public reporting in the water, electricity and gas industries, and access regulation of essential ports and rail infrastructure. We also provide advice and conduct Inquiries to inform the South Australian Government on economic and regulatory policy issues and provide advice to local government.

Special Conditions for Employment

  • Employment is dependent upon the provision of a National Police Certificate that the Commission considers satisfactory.
  • Some out of hours work may be required to meet critical deadlines.
  • Some intrastate and or interstate travel may be required.
