East Marden Primary School is seeking a reliable and proactive Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our team.

The Grounds person is responsible of the provision of effective and efficient maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds, buildings and equipment pertaining to the school, primarily focussing on external grounds but also supporting internal functions. They provide support to the Business Manager to contribute to efficient and high-quality service delivery for grounds and facilities.

What you will do:

  • Conducting general maintenance and repairs including but not limited to furniture repair, patching, painting, door and lock repairs, minor plumbing and installing fixtures and fittings in accordance with WHS practices

  • Assist with the preparation of sports fields including layout and line marking

  • Coordinate and ensure basic garden maintenance as required. eg pruning, weeding spraying and fertilising

  • Ensure all grounds equipment is operated within safety guidelines and kept in good working order.

  • Mowing and maintenance of lawns/ovals when required

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in prioritising work and performing under broad guidelines to maintain lawns, irrigations, buildings, facilities, internal and external fixtures and fittings, maintenance, repairs and in the use of and maintaining of relevant equipment

  • Experience with a trade, horticulture, or similar skills acquired from training or experience

  • A sound knowledge of the processes related to grounds and building maintenance in a School Environment with particular note to playground safety requirements
