Remuneration: ASO8 ($125,649 - $130,392 per annum) / ASO7 ($112,163 - $121,246 per annum).

Do you want to play a key role in delivering high-impact reform that improves outcomes for children and young people in care?

The Strategic Policy, Partnerships and Reform Directorate (SPPR) is seeking multiple Principal Policy Officers and Senior Policy Officers to lead and support complex, cross-cutting projects and partnerships that drive system-level change across the child protection system. Working closely with senior leaders and partners across government and the community sector, you will shape and deliver priority initiatives spanning policy, service design and strategic collaboration in areas such as health, education and social inclusion.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of strategic projects and partnership initiatives.
  • Drive cross-agency collaboration to progress reform priorities.
  • Prepare high-quality advice, briefings and written materials.
  • Build and leverage partnerships to improve access, services and outcomes.
  • Prepare clear, influential briefings and communications.
  • Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

About You:

You are a confident and strategic professional with experience leading complex initiatives and working across organisational boundaries. You bring strong capability in policy development, stakeholder engagement and reform delivery, with the ability to influence, navigate complexity and drive outcomes. You understand contemporary child protection practice, including approaches that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
