Overview

This position is a joint position between Flinders University and Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) within the framework of the partnership agreement which aims to ensure high quality educational experiences for allied health professional students.

The Senior Clinical Educator (Physiotherapy) applies clinical expertise and significant experience in the delivery of interdisciplinary Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) services in rural and remote settings to the coordination and development of clinical education and training for students and Supervisors of PT students on placement across RMCLHN.  Working in partnership with University stakeholders, the Senior Clinical Educator supports OT& PT students and OT, & PT Student Supervisors, contributes to clinical teaching, conducts quality evaluation, undertakes and facilitates research, provides advice to RMCLHN Management and University partners on clinical education and development opportunities, and provides an inter-professional Clinical Education consultancy service across the network. 

The Senior Clinical Educator provides leadership and advanced support to clinical education programs within RMCLHN, including but not limited to the Riverland Interdisciplinary Student Placement Program (RISPP). RISPP is an interdisciplinary student education initiative that delivers restorative and reablement services to adults across Aboriginal Health, Residential Aged Care, and Community Aged Care setting

The Senior Clinical Educator is line managed by the Advanced Education and Research Lead (Allied Health), receives clinical support and supervision from the Senior Manager Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology, and maintains cooperative working relationships with other Allied Health Professional Clinical Seniors, local team members and key stakeholders in the Region and State.
