Join our Operating Theatres Team
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scrub Scout Nurse to join our friendly and high-performing surgical team.
This role is ideal for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong clinical skills, and vibrant energy to the theatre environment. We're looking for a confident and engaging professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive team.
About the role:
Duties for the role will include:
- Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, ensuring their proper sterilization, and assisting the surgical team during operations.
- Plan, prioritise and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs
- Recognising, responding and appropriately escalating clinical deterioration, and provide complex care at the bedside of the perioperative patient
- Recognise, respond and report other incidents within the department
- Actively participate in Quality and Safety Improvement Projects
- Support nursing/midwifery practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates
- Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will be invaluable assets in this role
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Proven scrub scout experience across a range of surgical specialties (minimum 3 years experience) delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards

- The ability to work efficiently, remain composed under pressure, demonstrate appropriate professional behaviours, open to feedback and initiate self-reflection
