About the Opportunity

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and attention-to-detail Corporate Support Officer to join our team, ensuring corporate operations run seamlessly. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, responsive, and confidential administrative support services to the South Australian Small Business Commission.

You’ll contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the Commission by managing records, coordinating executive diary and travel arrangements, answering enquiries and being a general ‘go-to’ assistant for a range of administrative tasks related to ICT, accounts payable and receivable, facilities, and office stock and equipment; liaising daily with staff and service providers on a broad range of matters related to the successful running of the office.

Applications are welcomed at the ASO2 or ASO3 level, with the final classification and responsibilities determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and demonstrated capability.

About the Business

The Small Business Commission SA (SBC) is an independent statutory Office of the South Australian Government within the Attorney-General's Department.

The functions of the office are to:

  • Facilitate alternative dispute resolution processes between small businesses, and between small businesses and state or local government.
  • Advocate on behalf of the small business community, or a section of it, regarding collective issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and engage with small businesses to provide information and guidance.
  • Regulate by administering and enforcing legislative powers and responsibilities assigned to the Small Business Commissioner.
  • Deliver a fair, timely and consistent services to, and on behalf of, South Australian small businesses.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

Some out of hours work may be required.
