About the role
The Service Manager provides the pivotal leadership and
management for the clinical services teams. The role ensures
maximum effectiveness for an integrated service approach for safe
and quality clinical mental health care. The Service Manager
provides management of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team
activities, including recruitment, staffing and rosters, work
allocation attendance management, financial monitoring and resource
management/planning.
Key duties of the role
Provide pivotal service leadership, management and
oversight.
Lead and improve local processes and interventions in
infant, child, and adolescent mental health.
Coordinate services for assessment and advice to achieve
integrated child and adolescent mental health care.
Identify and address inconsistencies between child and
adolescent mental health practice and policy.
Lead recruitment processes for teams based on staffing
plans, appropriate HR principles, and finances.
Skills and Experience
AHP4
Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification:
which gives eligibility for full membership of the
Australian Association of Social Workers
in clinical practice recognised by the PsyBA. Must
hold general registration with the PsyBA endorsed in
clinical practice.
which entitles registration as an Occupational
Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of
Australia
which gives eligibility for full membership of the
Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
Experience in management and leadership roles in a
multidisciplinary context.
Experience in recruitment and human resource
management.
Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and
meet deadlines.
RN4
Registered as a Mental Health Nurse.
Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post
registration experience.
Competence in the mental health nursing practice in
accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
Experience in human/financial and asset management of a
service.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of
autonomy.
