Guided by the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care, the Office for Early Childhood Development is the steward of the early childhood development system in South Australia.

The Office is tasked with a significant responsibility bringing together a holistic, connected system for early childhood development across South Australia, with the goal of reducing the rate of children entering school developmental vulnerable. Critical to this is the roll-out of universal 3-year-old preschool from 2026, giving every child access to 2 years of teacher-led, play-based early learning before school by 2032.

 

About this role: 

The Executive Support Officer is responsible for coordinating and providing comprehensive and confidential administrative support services to Executive Directors and senior leaders.  

This role will proactively identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced work environment with changing demands and priorities.

 

Your Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate appointments and meetings for Executives, ensuring seamless organisation of schedules, travel arrangements, meeting papers, and relevant information.
  • Provide administrative support to Executives, including managing correspondence, document tracking, and managing urgent workload priorities.  
  • Provide minute-taking during meetings and ensure actions are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Process invoices, review leave returns and assist with recruitment tasks as necessary.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Assist with business improvement initiatives, projects and contract management, stakeholder engagement, and assist with implementation of project outcomes.

  

About you:

The Executive Support Officer will be able demonstrate strong time management skills, deliver high-level support, effectively navigating competing priorities, while adapting to changing demands, and maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced work environment.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in providing and coordinating the delivery of, confidential, high-level executive support and correspondence management service, including analysing and evaluating written information with regard to urgency, accuracy and consistency.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders, and to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in using government software such as Objective, SharePoint, and BASWARE would be desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and sound judgement to respond effectively to both internal and external demands within a fast-paced work environment.

Remuneration: 

ASO4-$79,432 -$83,266 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus 12% superannuation.

Additional Note: 

This is a full-time 2-year long term contract role (1.0 FTE)
