About The Opportunity

The Claims Management Officer works in the Claims Management team and is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and accurate and timely administrative services to members and stakeholders.

The Claims Management team is responsible for managing claims for Income Protection, Total and Permanent Disablement, Terminal Illness and assessing the release of insurance benefits in the event of a member passing away, this includes handling member’s enquiries via phone and email, supporting them in their most vulnerable moment in life.


Remuneration:
ASO4 ($79,432 - $83,266 p.a) + 12% Super


About You

We are looking for enthusiastic people with a commitment to service excellence to provide high quality, effective and accurate claims administration services to members and Government agencies.

To be successful, you must address the selection criteria below in a cover letter:

  • Knowledge of insurance claims and/or insurance underwriting administration.
  • Proven ability to manage an active and moving portfolio and manage and maintain regular member contact.
  • Proven experience in handling difficult situations in a calm, positive and objective manner.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement solutions.
  • Effective communication and liaison with a diverse range of people at various levels (both orally and in writing) including claimants, medical and legal practitioners.
  • Knowledge of superannuation and the schemes offered by Superannuation funds.
