About the role

The Administrative Officer is accountable to the Nursing Service Director and Medical Unit Head for the provision of a confidential reception and administrative support service. The incumbent will support clinical staff in the delivery of health care services within the reception area and clinical base, which includes the registration and admission of patients attending the Paediatric Emergency Department.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide a friendly and efficient reception service to staff and clients
  • Contribute to the provision of an effective and efficient administrative service for the Department
  • Provide an efficient and effective record management service for Paediatric Emergency Department
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate electronic databases and the continuous improvement of office systems.
  • Support and actively participate in a positive culture and safe work environment

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-focused administrative and reception support services.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, office administration systems, and record management principles.
