About the role
Provides nursing services within the Child and Family Health
Service (CaFHS), delivering safe, person-centred care. Develops
from novice to proficient practice through ongoing professional
development and experience. Accepts accountability for own practice
and delegated activities while consolidating clinical knowledge and
skills.
Key duties of the role
- Provides person-centred nursing/midwifery care, including
assessment, planning, implementation, and coordination of
client services within a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborates with other disciplines and agencies to ensure
coordinated, holistic care and improved health outcomes for
clients.
- Participates in quality improvement, risk management, and
safe practice initiatives, contributing to client safety and
service improvement.
- Provides health education and promotion to clients and
groups, and supports students and new staff through clinical
teaching and orientation.
- Contributes to evidence-based practice and evaluative
research while providing increasing leadership and guidance to
less experienced staff.
Skills and Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or
Midwife with AHPRA, holding or eligible for a current
practising certificate.
- Demonstrated competence in relevant clinical practice,
delivering safe, high-quality care consistent with National
Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution,
and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritise workload
and work flexibly in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to person- and family-centred care, quality
improvement, and consumer engagement principles in healthcare
delivery.
- Sound knowledge of nursing/midwifery practice, legislation,
standards, ethics, and quality systems within contemporary
healthcare settings.
