About the Role:

The Environmental Information Management Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading the strategic delivery of programs and projects that manage DEW’s significant environmental data assets, ensuring they are trusted, discoverable and fit for purpose.

You will provide authoritative advice on information and records management, develop clear and user‑centred information frameworks, and coordinate the delivery of high‑value environmental data and information products that directly support policy, regulatory and operational outcomes. Working closely with business units, regions, ICT partners and external stakeholders, you will act as a key point of contact for complex data initiatives, strengthen governance and standards, and enable analytical workflows and digital transformation across the agency.

This role suits an experienced professional with strong program and project management capability, deep knowledge of contemporary information management and government frameworks, and the confidence to work under broad direction while balancing competing priorities.

Desirable Criteria (including qualifications):

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, with emphasis on knowledge management or environmental analysis.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
  • Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.

A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months.

Remuneration: 
ASO7, $112,163 min - $121,246 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.
