The Department for Environment and Water (DEW) is seeking an
experienced and innovative Geospatial Information Management
Coordinator to lead the way in spatial data governance, lifecycle
planning, and enterprise integration.
In this pivotal role, you'll coordinate how environmental spatial
data is created, shared and applied—supporting smarter
conservation, risk management, emergency response, and climate
adaptation initiatives across the state.
What You'll Do
- Deliver expert advice on geospatial information management,
data governance and enterprise integration.
- Drive the corporatisation and lifecycle planning of key
environmental spatial data assets.
- Engage stakeholders to ensure spatial data is accessible,
meaningful, and fit for purpose.
- Promote best practice in geospatial data standards and
environmental knowledge management.
- Support effective project delivery and data-driven
decision-making.
What You'll Bring
- Experience with ESRI GIS tools, including ArcGIS Pro,
ArcGIS Enterprise, geoprocessing tools, and web apps.
- Strong knowledge of spatial data governance, information
lifecycle management, and metadata standards.
- Experience in project planning, stakeholder engagement, and
cross-functional collaboration.
- Bonus points for skills in Python, R, spatial databases,
GPS/mobile data capture, or environmental modelling.
- A tertiary qualification in spatial science, information
management or environmental management is desirable.

Contract:
2 Year Contract
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in fire management or
associated duties.
- Current class “C" Driver's licence and willingness
safely operate a vehicle when required.
- Required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work
outside of the normal hours of work.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust
pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government
Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role
you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a
National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department
requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Remuneration:
ASO6, $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a.
