Casual and short term vacancies upon successful completion of the 5 week Call Centre Course.

Duties: The SAPOL Call Centre Consultant contributes to the achievement of SAPOL’s Vision and the goals of SAPOL’s Strategic Direction by providing streamlined access to police services via the 131444 Police Assistance telephone number and other avenues of enquiries. Working as part of the Communications Group, the Call Centre Consultant receives telephone requests for police attendance and other assistance. With a strong focus on providing effective customer service resolution, calls are processed to ensure patrols are tasked in an appropriate and timely manner. The Call Centre Consultant also provides a key service to internal and external customers by providing information and taking reports including Crime Occurrences and Missing Persons Reports (both relative to set criteria). The range of services provided by the Call Centre is being continually reviewed and expanded.

Shortlisted applicants: This is a casual position for which a 25 percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick leave. Shortlisted applicants will need to be available to attend Police Headquarters for psychometric, IQ, Literacy and typing testing, an interview and sight and hearing testing.

Successful applicants must be available to participate in a full time five week training course commencing Monday 7 November 2022, and must also be available to attend an additional 3 weeks consisting of 4 x 5hr shifts for the week commencing Monday 12 December 2022 and 10 x 8hr shifts for the fortnight commencing Monday 19 December 2022.

Special Conditions: These positions are casual positions involving shift coverage at short notice and the incumbent must be available to be rostered over 24 hours 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays. Applicants must be over 18 years. Appointment to this position will be subject to a satisfactory probity and COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

Salary: ASO2 $56,987- $61,301 per annum
